What Are Pellets?

Production Process

  2. Drying: to achieve optimal moisture content (usually 8-12%), the raw material is dried in special drying installations.
  3. Pressing: the prepared raw material is pressed under high pressure in the pellet press matrix. During this process, lignin, a natural component of wood, softens and binds the biomass particles into strong pellets.
  4. Cooling and packaging: freshly produced pellets are cooled to prevent deformation and sticking, after which they are packaged for storage and transportation.

Applications of Pellets

Pellets are widely used in various fields:

Domestic heating: pellet boilers and stoves have become a popular solution for heating private houses and apartments. They provide a high level of comfort and cost-efficiency.

Industrial use: pellets are used in enterprises for the production of heat and electricity. Large boiler installations allow meeting the energy needs of factories and other industrial facilities.

Electricity generation: pellets are used at power plants to produce electricity. This is particularly relevant for regions with limited fossil fuel reserves.
